Affirmation is a declaration that something is true. How many things do you hold as true about yourself that are not? How many beliefs do you have that are not your own? The thoughts you hold affect the way you act and live. Affirmations can help you change your thought, gain healthier ideas and reprogram negative thinking patterns. As with anything it takes time. If it took me 34 years to have my negative behaviors so I should expect it will take a bit of effort to change them. Be patient with yourself and be consistent. Try not to share your affirmations with to many people in the beginning as some times involving other people may effect you. IE: other peoples doubts, criticism or plain hateraid. Give yourself a chance to see the effects of the affirmations and when people start asking about the positive changes in your life then tell them what you have been doing. You can use affirmations to change any situation such as health, employment, relationships, weight etc. The way you think effects your goals, dreams and attitude. Here are some pointers for using affirmations;
Always speak in present tense as you have to show yourself and your higher power you have faith in what you speak. Ask and ye shall receive. Speak it, believe it, achieve it!
Say them as many times as possible a day. (every time you have a negative thought counter act that bad boy)
Say them in the mirror, this is very powerful, there is nothing like looking into yourown eyes and speaking with conviction and power.
Create affirmations for stress reduction as you would a prayer. (use the serenity prayer in present tense, very powerful.)
Examples "I am prosperous and love is waiting for me every where I go.""I have a rewarding job that offers me all the comforts in life.""I Am healthy, and my body is wonderful and perfect.""I Am protected in the hand of the Almighty, I walk with Legions of Angels, I am safe always."At first it is going to be hard to believe, you may even feel like your lying but do yourself a favordon't stop. You lied to yourself about not being good enough, you lied to yourself about your body not being a beautiful creation of God, you even listened to others convince you of all types of untruths. Within 21 days you would have formed a new habit and new thought pattern. You attract to you what you think, feel and say so attract positive things into your life. There is so much power in the tongue.Louise Haye is my favorite author of Affirmations. Search the web for some affirmations or make up your own.
